This piece combines curved shapes and sharp, rigid forms to explore the interaction between women’s autonomy and societal norms. The curved forms symbolize women’s minds and bodies, while the sharp elements represent social expectations. I use cords and yarns, often associated with the domestic sphere, to evoke femininity. These materials shift between order and release, suggesting delicacy, endurance, and the complex inner lives of women.

The work emphasizes the tension and balance between opposing forces, pointing to a delicate equilibrium between self and society. Rather than focusing solely on vulnerability, I aim to convey resilience. Women coexist with social expectations, absorbing them as part of their strength. The sculpture stands with the pipes, integrating them into its structure, where fragile materials become structural elements, expressing a strength that confronts the precarity of the larger systems we inhabit.

This resilience unfolds slowly, like circulation within the body, accumulating over time and echoing the time-intensive, hand-crafted process through which the work was made.
